UiTM Accelerates Innovation in CO2 Dehydration Units Remaining Life Monitoring

The oil and gas industry relies heavily on extracting and processing oil and gas, necessitating dedicated monitoring to maintain competitiveness and sustainability.

Assessing the adsorption performance in the CO2 dehydration unit consumes a lot of time and resources.

Associate Professor Dr. Marina Yusoff of the Institute for Big Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence (IBDAAI) & College of Computing, Informatics and Mathematics, Universiti Teknologi MARA, spearheads a project on Adsorption Capacity Prediction and Forecasting Analytics for CO2 Dehydration Units Remaining Life Monitoring at a cost of more than RM1.5 million, driven by the spirit of doing more for optimizing the performance of CO2 dehydration unit. It would facilitate monitoring adsorption performances and optimizing operating conditions.

The project is fully funded by PETRONAS Research Sdn Bhd and focuses on enhancing the efficiency of the oil and gas operation by reducing costs and saving time by implementing automated interpretation and visualization and supporting the implementation of efficient regeneration or replacement strategies.
