Shah Alam, 18 June 2025 – The Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings assess universities globally based on their performance in supporting
the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) established by the United Nations. These rankings employ a set of carefully calibrated indicators to ensure comprehensive and balanced comparisons across four key areas: research, stewardship, outreach, and teaching.
In 2025, UiTM was ranked in the 301–400 band out of 2,318 universities, demonstrating resilience amid the addition of 355 new institutions, which contributed to a more competitive global cycle. Of the eight SDGs in which UiTM participated, SDG 5 (Gender Equality) remained the university’s strongest area, ranked in the 101–200 band. This recognition highlights UiTM’s ongoing efforts to champion gender equality, support women’s empowerment, and create an inclusive academic and working environment. Additionally, SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions) were ranked within the top 300 globally, reflecting UiTM’s sustained commitment to supporting communities, promoting sustainability on campus, and upholding socially responsible governance.
