SHAH ALAM, 19 June 2025 – Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) has achieved its highest-ever position in the QS World University Rankings 2026,
climbing an impressive 45 spots to secure 542nd globally. This marks a significant milestone for the university, placing it among the top 36% of 1,501 leading institutions worldwide and reinforcing its emergence as a major player on the international academic stage. With a determined focus on strategic transformation, international research visibility, and sustainable campus development, UiTM’s rise is more than just a number; it reflects a university that vigorously strengthens its place globally.
UiTM tops its international research network score for the third consecutive year, highlighting its increasingly robust international collaborations. The university’s 250% leap in sustainability performance is even more remarkable, revealing UiTM’s success in implementing a green campus and consistent sustainability initiatives. On the other hand, the university’s academic reputation score remains strong and growing for the sixth consecutive year, advancing 21 positions from 288 to 267. On top of that, UiTM ranks among the top 10 universities in Malaysia for employer reputation, out of 32 institutions evaluated nationwide.
“This achievement represents more than numerical success; it’s an embodiment of determination and togetherness of members of the university in attaining excellence,” said UiTM Vice-Chancellor, Professor Datuk Ts. Dr Shahrin Sahib. He added, “As we chart the course of our UiTM2030 vision, we remain resolute in producing future-ready Bumiputera graduates with global aspirations.” The accomplishment brings renewed motivation to drive the UiTM2030 aspiration to become a globally renowned university and to continue the mission of empowering future generations through globally competitive education.
