Construction work on the Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Chancellery building started on 25 November 2002 and it was completed on January 18, 2005. The Chancellery was officially opened by His Majesty Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Ibni Al-Marhum Tuanku Syed Putra Jamalullail, the 12th Yang DiPertuan Agong of Malaysia. The building was named after His Royal Highness, who was the second Chancellor of UiTM, in recognition of his contribution and support for the university.
Upon entering the main gates of the university, visitors will be greeted by the majestic UiTM Falls. The waterfall has become one of the main attractions at the university as it has a captivating view which becomes more radiant and magnificent when twinned with glittering lights at night.
Tuanku Fauziah Square
Located to the right side of the road leading to the Chancellery building is the Tuanku Fauziah Square. The square is named after the 12th Queen of Malaysia, Her Majesty Tuanku Fauziah binti Tuanku Abdul Rashid. The square was constructed by the university as part of its effort to promote nature on campus. Its construction is based on the landscape concept of man-made lakes that are lined with lush plants and greeneries.
Deer Observation Point
The Deer Observation Point which is located adjacent to the Tuanku Fauziah Square is accessible to visitors at all times. Initially, the paddock was set up to accommodate five deer. However, the number of deer breeding here has increased steadily over the years.
MIM Sculpture Courtyard
Opposite the Chancellery building is an area named the MIM Sculpture Courtyard, an area which showcases an artistic structure of the letter MIM in the Arabic alphabet. This letter symbolizes the manifesto of the Malay community. The metal structure is strategically located to provide a breathtaking view of Shah Alam to visitors. The MIM Sculpture was inspired by Tan Sri Dato 'Sri Prof Dr Ibrahim Abu Shah.
Lobby of the Chancellery
Upon entering the lobby of the Chancellery, visitors will be welcomed by the receptionists, who are readily available to assist them here.
This Cafeteria is managed by the UiTM Hotel and operates from Monday to Friday from 7.30 am to 5.30 pm. There are different types of Malay and Western cuisines which can be enjoyed at reasonable prices.
Office of the Chancellor
The office of the Chancellor, Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Board of Directors is located on the seventh floor of the Chancellery in whcih the interior has been tastefully furnished with an exclusive touch. In addition, the Board meeting room is also located on this floor. This room has become an important venue for the Executive Board to meet and decide on policies, and consolidate important matters pertaining to management which play a significant role in boosting the performance of the university.
Office of the Vice-Chancellor
The Vice Chancellor's Office is located on level six of the Chancellery. From the office of the Vice-Chancellor, visitors can enjoy a scenic view of Shah Alam and skyscrapers in Kuala Lumpur such as KLCC. Steps which are well-designed, elegant and stylish leading from the lobby at level six going up to level seven can be found here.
Royal Drawing Room
On the seventh floor of the Chancellery is a luxurious Royal Drawing Room, furnished with exquisite and comfortable furniture, exclusively designed to entertain royal guests and VIPs. Through the glass panels, guests can enjoy the magnificent Shah Alam skyline.
Senate Assembly Hall
Moving on to level four of the Chancellery, visitors will come across the Senate Assembly Hall. This hall is exclusively designed with a combination of attractive colours and décor, making it a perfect place for discussion.
