  1. What is UiTM?

    UiTM is short for Universiti Teknologi MARA. It is Malaysia's largest institution of higher learning in terms of size and population. It has experienced phenomenal growth since its inception in 1956 and it is still growing.

    Beside the main campus in Shah Alam, the university has expanded nationwide with 12 state campuses (out of which 7 are state autonomous campuses), 6 satellite campuses in Shah Alam, 11 state satellite campuses and 21 affiliated colleges. With this vast network and a workforce of 17,770, the university offers more than 500 academic programmes in a conducive and vibrant environment. It is also home to some 175,200 students.   2. Where is the University located?

  3. What are the programmes offered in UiTM?

    UiTM offers various programmes from foundation to postgraduate level as well as professional courses, as listed in the Programmes Offered page from the Academic Affairs Division website.

    Courses could be offered at the main campus, autonomous campuses, branch and/or satellite campuses. You need to contact the Faculty or Academic Center which offers the programme directly for further information.

  4. What are the entry requirements for those programmes?

    Entry requirements for each programme can differ. Kindly visit the official website of the Faculty or Academic Center directly for its entry requirements.

  5. What are the programmes offered at other UiTM campuses?

  6. Do you offer Diploma programmes at the main campus?

    We no longer offer Diploma programmes at the main campus in Shah Alam.

  9. I am an overseas student – can I study at this University?

    Yes, we offer postgraduate programmes as well as mobility programmes for international students.

  11. How is the learning environment in UiTM?

    UiTM provides conducive learning facilities for students outside of the classroom and it is also venue to one of the biggest libraries in the country, with branches in all its campuses.

  12. How does the university prepare its graduating students to have the necessary skills to compete in the job market?

    UiTM consistently works towards adding value to a wholesome education for its students through various academic and non-academic experience on campus. Students and the UiTM community are encouraged to organize and participate in various activities within these categories, such as leadership, spiritual, sports, patriotism, entrepreneurships, community service, social and cultural, creativity and innovation, communication skills, and internationalisation.

With the blessings of Allah SWT., we will soon step into the year 2017.  As we celebrate the start of a new year, I wish you the best of health and happiness; and hope that the year 2017 will bring fulfillment and success to all of us.

2016 has been a great year for us at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) as our fraternity has succeeded remarkably in achieving many accomplishments in various fields, both nationally and internationally.  Success did indeed come repeatedly, but I know that it did not come easily.  These successes are the fruits of your labour and thoughtful endeavours.  I urge everyone to take these achievements as a strong motivation in attaining greater excellence to drive our university to achieve a wider global visibility in 2017.
