MASTERS IN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION (MBA)
The Faculty of Business Management , UiTM offers the programme Masters in Business Administration. It is offered in two modes: a full-time and a part-time. The full-time mode is for those who want to continuously engaged into life-long learning after their first degree while the part-time mode is to cater for experienced business executives. Entry requirements for both modes are slightly different (please refer to the faculty website for further information).
In general this programme aims at producing graduates who will be equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to face the challenges of senior leadership in the future. As such, the programme design has integrated a number of professional courses that emphasize on problem-solving, managerial competencies, oral and written communication skills, ethics and social responsibilities, alongside functional areas of study.
The part-time or also known as executive program has been carefully structured in order to ensure that all courses can be completed within two years even while the executive continues to handle his or her professional duties full-time. This is accomplished by offering courses on Saturdays and Sundays during the two years duration of the programme. An independent research project has to be completed during the second half of the programme. This programme ensures that the participating executives are able to upgrade their managerial skills, broaden their perspectives and improve their opportunities for advancement into higher management. Essentially, this also benefits their organizations.
MASTER OF BUSINESS ECONOMICS
MASTER IN OFFICE SYSTEMS MANAGEMENT
Faculty of Business Management, UiTM offers Master in Office Systems Management in a full-time and part-time mode. It is a programme designed to provide the new breed of office executives with new knowledge and insights in the fields of office management and technology. The primary objective of this programme is to develop individuals at the graduate level who are capable of integrating process, technology and people. The diversified course content developed in this program will indeed prepare individuals to link or integrate office systems to enhance organizational performance. The strength of this program lies in the integration of three main components built into the courses: information technology, management and communication. Our programme prepares senior executives for the company’s top positions, helping them to understand the broad functions of an organization beyond their specialization. In addition, this programme fills a niche void specifically in process driven documentation for quality audit of managing diverse office systems network. Graduates of this programme will only easily obtain employment in the private sector but also in the government organizations.
This programme is also designed for graduates from non-business backgrounds who wish to redirect their careers into administrative/systems/office/business and management or for graduates already working in business who wish to develop their management/administrative skills and knowledge. Most managers are either IT or management specialists which results in a lack of a cross-appreciation of each other’s expertise. Therefore, this program should also be attractive to graduates from business backgrounds who wish to broaden and enhance their knowledge in organizational performance using the systems concept which is the emphasis of this master’s programme.
MASTER OF SCIENCE (BUSINESS MANAGEMENT)
Master of Science in Business Management is offered by the Faculty of Business Management, UiTM. It is planned with the objective of making possible a reasonable, comprehensive mastery of the subject matter in a chosen field. It provides training and experience in research in order to familiarize the student with the methods, ideals and goals of independent investigation. Areas of research include; Economics, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Human Resource, International Business Management, Marketing, Risk Management & Insurance and Transportation Management. To be conferred the degree; a student must pass thesis examination and viva voce.
