A young and talented group of students from the Department of Foundation Studies, Faculty of Art & Design, Universiti Teknologi MARA are assembling to present diverse and vibrant perspective on color through paintings.

Color Theory exhibits an array of more than 100 paintings on ornament, arabesque and batik through the application of various color theory technique, which is one of the courses that were introduced and taught in the first year studies.

Jointly organized by Galeri Seni Tuanku Nur Zahirah and Department of Foundation Studies, this exhibition will take place from May 21 to June 21, 2012.

The artworks exhibited are products of Fashion Design Department (FSSR), Textile Department (FSSR) and Textile Technology Department (FSG). The artworks displayed presented creativity of third year students involving draping techniques for bridal wear, pattern engineering for creative silhouettes, textile printing, hand painted silk, batik and weaving / fibre art. The exhibition also features Songket works produced by Prof Dr Jamil Salleh CText FTI (FSG).
