BACKGROUND

IDB and UiTM are proud to welcome young Muslim scholars who are keen to present their work-in-progress or research findings in areas pertaining to Islamic or the Muslims’ development. The Islamic framework could be of much use in helping to resolve current economic or social problems that are besieging the Muslim community of the world. It is on this basis that this forum is organized by both IDB and UiTM.

THE HOSTS

Islamic Development Bank (IDB), based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia is an entity that oversees the economic and social development of member countries in ensuring that they are in line with syariah principles. The 55 member countries comprised member of the Organization of Islamic Countries (OIC) and IDB also acts as the general secretariat of OIC.

Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), is the biggest university in Malaysia catering to the needs of the indigenous people who are predominantly Muslims. With branch campuses in each state of Malaysia, UiTM boasts of almost 90,000 students and more than 4,000 academic staffs.
